French guard, mayor, Naval Attaché, and about 80 local schoolchildren, who performed speeches and a 20 verse song. The schoolchildren knew exactly why the event was important and that the eight Royal Marines had died for France.

The wreaths are at the pillbox site where victims were shot, note bullet holes. The whole event is in the grounds and part of the Chateau Magnols, taken over by the German Navy as their WWII Bordeaux HQ.
